FIRST PAGEI wonder if you might like the suggestion of some holiday reading? The other suggestion I have is about some homework!I have started reading in The Letter of Ephesians, and this is because I hope we can explore it together in the autumn. So maybe you would like to read it too? It is one of the richest messages of Paul to the first churches, and I feel led to open it on Sunday mornings this year, and plan to do so from September I hope you will feel it is appropriate also, in this special anniversary year of our fellowship, to look at a Bible book with the prayer 'To God be glory in the church,' 3v21 So at home or away, why not find time to look at this long, loving letter of the apostle, in his care of the church for which Jesus died There is so much here to help us build a church that pleases the Lord, like the pattern in chapter 4 of how gifts and leadership work together as a body does You will find much to help you personally too, such as the familiar encouragement to 'Be strong in the Lord,' 6v10, in the battle which is part of our spiritual lives Take the time to explore and get ahead a little. Why not read a chapter a day for a week? Familiarise yourself with this glowing letter of the grace of Christ Gordon |
