They would carry forward his mission, beginning in Jerusalem, then beyond the Holy Land to the whole world

We are part of that, as we witness to Jesus where we are in the world, at home, at work, as well as through the church

We should pray for each other and those around us, in the everyday situations where we are spread through the week

MISSION

Jesus sent those who knew him as Saviour and Lord, to point to him, like signposts, and that is still our mission

To be part of the church is not just about belonging, not only about the God we belong to, but also about his work

We may live in times when people do not seem interested in church, but our mission is to witness to Jesus first of all

Let us pray that we will be faithful in our part of the mission of God in Jesus, and so depend entirely on his Holy Spirit

It should be our ambition to be like those Paul encouraged,
'Your faith in God has gone forth everywhere,'
1 Thessalonians 1v8
