What is your reaction when you receive a reminder? If it is by mail and the print is red, probably not favourable.

I have given this some thought over the years. For the role of the local pastor includes that of a reminder. You only have to think that my preaching is from the bible to see that.

Like you, I need to be reminded of the most important things of my faith. Just as in other parts of our lives we need to have things repeated to us, whether the teenager to tidy their room, or where we have put the keys.

So, have you prayed today for someone you know to find faith in the Lord Jesus? I am sure you will have remembered others in prayer, yet it may be that you have asked the Lord about all their needs and circumstances but this. The true answer for every person is to trust in Jesus for themselves.

There are many sides to the grace we know in the Lord Jesus, but nothing is more important than for each one to turn and believe in him. This is surely something to be reminded of.

‘The Lord is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.’ 2 Peter 3v9
And that is at the heart of what Oakwood 2010 is all about.
