After half term, Gordon came to tell the children the story of Palm Sunday. The Squirrels will recall how he taught them to cheer and to boo, thus simulating the experience of Jesus on and after His triumphant entry into Jerusalem. As it was just before Mothers Day, the children made some dry flower arrangements and quite unexpected skill was displayed! On 4th March, we watched a video followed by a quiz on Peter’s denial of his Lord and subsequent restoration. Caroline came and oversaw the decoration of some buns, one to resemble a ladybird and another a kitten. The following Tuesday, Jan told the story of the crucifixion and resurrection and we made Easter cards, supervised by Becky and then some birds nests with eggs. If we left any eggs in the church after the annual egg hunt, we apologies! Some parents don’t seem to be aware that the Notice Board in the lobby carries a copy of our programme giving start and stop dates for each term. We are so glad to have had four new recruits recently bringing our total to 13. Peggy and Harold |
